Laura Gallucci
Violin/ Viola
Laura Gallucci is a diverse teacher and freelance musician. She has taught acoustic and electric violin and viola to all ages of student since 1990. Her skills cover many styles, including classical, fiddle, jazz, pop, and originals. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the Eastman School of Music in NY. She has a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science and has ten years experience as a Children's and Teen Services Librarian. She has over 20 years experience playing in her band, St. Huckleberry, writing over 100 original songs with her husband, songwriter Michael Gallucci. She has been the Principal Violist of the Bangor Symphony since 2005.
This unique combination of hands-on skills enables her to motivate pre-teen and teen students to get the most out of their private lesson experience. Her specialty is taking students where they are and keeping them playing, building, and enjoying their musical experiences. Her ultimate goal is for all her students to achieve a high enough level of ability by the end of high school to continue their music life long, in what ever capacity they choose.
